Grace period is applicable in case of non-cash transactions and if the payment of the whole statement Closing Balance is received by the Bank on or before the Payment Due Date. Depending on the day of month when the transaction has been posted to card account, duration of the grace period may vary.

Important notes

  • LOAN INTEREST AMOUNT IS BEING CALCULATED BASED ON THE ANNUAL NOMINAL INTEREST RATE, WHEREAS THE ANNUAL PERCENTAGE RATE OR APR INDICATES HOW MUCH WOULD LOAN COST TO BORROWER IN CASE OF REPAYMENT OF INTEREST AMOUNT AND OTHER PAYMENTS UNDER THE DEFINED TIMELINES AND TERMS.
  • Card is provided to individual customers
  • No interest is calculated against the credit balance of card account
  • Cardholder's minimum age should be 18, maximum age 65
  • Mastercard Platinum cards are valid for three years period. Cards are subject to renewal upon bank's discretion.
  • Credit card limit is provided with indefinite term. The limit, however, may be reviewed upon Bank's discretion.
  • FROM TIME TO TIME THE BANK MAY REVIEW THE CARD NOMINAL RATES IN ORDER TO REFLECT MARKET TRENDS.
  • All terms and charges related to products and services offered by HSBC Bank Armenia are subject to amendments and modifications with reasonable notice
  • The decision to approve applied product with respective credit line is made and customer is informed accordingly within 3 business days after the presentation of all necessary documents. The decision to issue a credit card is made and the card is delivered to the address specified by the  customer, during maximum 10 working days after the presentation of all necessary documents. 
  • In case you have outstanding obligations towards the creditor, the following repayment order will apply, when you fulfil your obligations:
  1. Penalties
  2. Interest
  3. Principal
  • The customer has the right to unilaterally terminate the card agreement within 7 (seven) working days from the date of signing, in which the customer is obliged to pay the amount of the credit limit used and the Interest Amount accrued for these days, which is calculated with the respective APR. 
  • The customer has the right to terminate the card agreement and close the credit card without paying any penalties. Customer is obliged to pay the amount of the credit limit used and the interest amount accrued for the used days of credit line, which is calculated with the respective APR.
  • The bank may require the customer’s obligations to be secured with guarantee at its discretion, based on risk assessment results.

Statements

The bank will provide customers with statements for their card accounts in the manner and terms stipulated by the RA legislation. The statements can be delivered to the customer's postal address, sent via email or collected from any branch of the bank. You can familiarise yourself with the conditions, terms and fees for provision of statements, copies of statements or other information by referring to Tariff of Charges and Terms and Conditions.

 

ATTENTION: IF YOU DON'T PAY THE DUE AMOUNT OF YOUR CREDIT CARD OR MAKE AN INCOMPLETE PAYMENT, INFORMATION ABOUT CREDIT HISTORY WILL BE SUBMITTED TO CENTRAL BANK OF ARMENIA AND ACRA CREDIT REPORTING CJSC IN THREE WORKING DAYS, RESULTING IN NEGATIVE IMPACT ON YOUR CREDIT HISTORY, SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO APPLY FOR ANOTHER LOAN IN THE FUTURE. YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO OBTAIN YOUR CREDIT HISTORY FROM CREDIT BUREAU FREE OF CHARGE ONCE A YEAR.

 

BEFORE SIGNING THE CARD AGREEMENT, INDIVIDUAL BULLETIN WITH CREDIT CARD TERMS TO BE PROVIDED, AS PER CENTRAL BANK OF ARMENIA REGULATION  8/05  “ON BUSINESS CONDUCT RULES OF FINANCIAL ORGANIZATIONS".

Deposit compensation guaranteed limits

Funds in bank accounts are guaranteed by the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Armenia in accordance with RA Law on Guaranteeing Compensation of Bank Deposits. Amounts of guaranteed deposits defined by the law are as follows 1:

  • If you have only a dram denominated bank deposit in the bank, the maximum amount of the guaranteed deposit is AMD 10 million
  • If you have only a foreign currency denominated bank deposit in the bank, the maximum amount of the guaranteed deposit is AMD 5 million
  • If you have dram and foreign currency denominated bank deposits in the bank, and the dram denominated deposit exceeds AMD 5 million, only up to AMD 10 million of the dram denominated deposit is guaranteed
  • If you have dram and foreign currency denominated bank deposits in the bank, and the size of the dram denominated bank deposit is less than AMD 5 million, subject to guarantee is the full amount of the dram denominated bank deposit and the foreign currency denominated bank deposit in the amount which is equal to the difference between AMD 5 million and the reimbursed dram denominated bank deposit
