Armenia’s financial Ombudsperson reveals five best financial organizations

Armenia’s Financial Ombudsperson has revealed today the names of five best financial organizations operating in the country which she said cooperated very productively with the Office of Financial Ombudsperson.

Speaking to ARKA, Financial Ombudswoman Piruz Sarkisian named VTB Bank (Armenia) , HSBC Bank Armenia, Byblos Bank Armenia , Ingo Insurance and Rosgosstrakh insurance companies.

"In general, Armenian financial institutions are willing to cooperate with the Office of the Financial Ombudsman, to implement our recommendations, and to make, if necessary, appropriate amendments to the normative acts, " Sarkisian said.

Armenia was the first among former Soviet republics to introduce the office of financial ombudsperson in 2009 January after the parliament passed a relevant law.

The number of complaints last year doubled to 642, but only 110 were accepted for further consideration. The Office levied 28.3 million Drams last year in favor of citizens, up from 26 million Drams in the preceding year.
