HSBC BANK ARMENIA CJSC JOINS WWF’S EARTH HOUR 2009

HSBC Bank Armenia cjsc and it’s 400 employees joined WWF’s Earth Hour 2009.

The bank has circulated the announcement among several local companies and organizations, aiming to create maximum awareness of low-carbon lifestyle.

HSBC Armenia offices have joined millions of businesses and homes worldwide by switching off their lights for one hour. HSBC’s offices in more than 40 countries are lending support to Earth Hour 2009.

HSBC is a socially responsible organization that proactively and continually promotes climate change ideas among colleagues and partners.

Education is the other main focus of corporate sustainability in HSBC. Eight hundred economically disadvantaged children and children from socially vulnerable families benefit from funds totalling USD 150,000 granted to Junior Achievement (JAA) and Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) under the Future First Program of HSBC’s Global Education Trust.

In January 2009 HSBC has been named the most ethical company out of 541 multinationals in 18 sectors by Geneva-based research consultancy Covalence.
