By using the new iOS Face ID, you can authenticate your identity and access your digital banking in mere seconds - all with a simple look. Conveniently, you can also log in to the HSBC Mobile Banking app through fingerprint authentication with iOS Touch ID. Both Face ID and Touch ID are a simple, fast and secure alternative to your Mobile Banking password/Digital Secure Key during log on.

Face ID is currently only available on Apple iPhone X and Touch ID is active on Apple iPhone 5s or above, running on iOS 10.1.1 or above.

In your iPhone Settings, make sure you've registered your biometric data

Now open the HSBC Armenia Mobile Banking app and enter your Mobile Banking password

3. Enable
Once HSBC Armenia Mobile Banking app is opened, confirm your willingness to activate Face ID

What is Touch ID/Face ID?

It's a simple, fast and secure way to access the HSBC Mobile Banking App using your biometric data stored on your mobile device.

Touch ID/Face ID is an alternative method by which you may log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App. It will allow you to access the same functionality on the HSBC Mobile Banking App as if you were logging on via Username, Memorable Answer and Mobile Banking Password.

Can I use Touch ID/Face ID to log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App?

Yes, once you have enabled Touch ID/Face ID (refer to "Setting up Touch ID/Face ID " section), you can use it to log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App.

Which devices can I use to log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App using Touch ID/Face ID?

Face ID is currently only available on Apple iPhone X and Touch ID is active on Apple iPhone 5s or above, running on iOS 10.1.1 or above. Touch ID/Face ID is not currently available on Android devices.

How can I enable Touch ID/Face ID to log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App?

You can enable Touch ID/Face ID immediately after you log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App by following the instructions on screen. Please note you need to have your biometric data stored on the device before you can enable log on with Touch ID/Face ID. Only biometric data stored on your device can used to access the HSBC Mobile Banking App.

Should I need to create Mobile Banking password to enable Touch ID/Face ID?

Yes, you should activate Mobile Banking Password in order to enable Touch ID/Face ID.

2. Security

Can I use Touch ID to log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App if I have more than one set of fingerprints stored on my device?

When you enable Touch ID on the HSBC Mobile Banking App, any fingerprint stored on your device - now or in the future - can be used to log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App. You should only enable Touch ID if you are the only person who has registered fingerprints on your device. Please note, you may be responsible for unauthorised payments/transfers made from your accounts if you have not kept your mobile telephone and security details safe, or if your fingerprints are not the only fingerprints registered on your device. You can add or remove fingerprints in your Mobile device settings.

What if my Touch ID/Face ID -enabled device is lost or stolen?

Please contact Bank's Call Centre immediately on +374 60 655 000 to report your lost/stolen device. Please note that you will be liable for any loss of funds arising from any unauthorised transaction on your Account if the loss occurs before you notify the Bank that your Internet Banking username, Memorable answer, Mobile Banking Password, Secure Key PIN, Touch ID/Face ID or Secure Key Code has been misused, lost or stolen or has become known or made available to someone else. Will my biometric data be stored in the HSBC Mobile Banking App or elsewhere within HSBC?

No. Your biometric data will not be stored in the HSBC Mobile Banking App or kept anywhere within HSBC.

How many log on attempts are allowed using Touch ID/Face ID?

A maximum of 3 log on attempts are allowed using Touch ID/Face ID. After 3 failed attempts you will be asked to log on using your Username, Memorable Answer and Mobile Password or Secure key code.

3. Functionality

What functions can I access when I login to the HSBC Mobile Banking App with Touch ID/Face ID?

You can access the below functions on the HSBC Mobile Banking App by logging on with Touch ID/Face ID:

  1. You can view your Account Summary, Account Transaction History and Read Messages
  2. You can open a Term Deposit Account
  3. You can make transfers between your HSBC Bank Armenia accounts and Pay bills
  4. You can view applicable Deposit Rates

To get full access to the HSBC Mobile Banking App functions, please use your Secure Key code.

Is internet connection required to setup Touch ID/Face ID?

Internet connection is not required to store your biometric data on the mobile device, however, you will need Internet connection to download and use the HSBC Mobile Banking App and enable Touch ID/Face ID.

If my biometric data is not recognised, can I still log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App?

Yes. You can still log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App using your Mobile Banking Username, Memorable Answer and Mobile Banking Password or Secure key code.

How can I disable Touch ID/Face ID?

There are two ways to disable Touch ID/Face ID:

• You can disable Touch ID/Face ID in the Settings menu after you log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking App
or
• You can delete all registered biometric data or delete the device passcode in your device settings.

What would happen if I receive a call whilst I am enabling Touch ID/Face ID?

You will be asked to log on again to the HSBC Mobile Banking App and enable Touch ID/Face ID.
